I love it when the man in the sombrero shouts out “MORE CHILLI”. You just triggered the bonus round or are in the bonus round of Aristocrat’s More Chilli slot game getting an extra set of reels. The More Chilli slot is certainly unique with its Free Spins Bonus feature. This slot machine can be found in many land-based casino locations. There appears to be a couple different versions though with different size ‘extra’ bets. In Australian and online casinos it is an extra 5 credits (total of 30 credits for 25 lines) for the extra free games, but in USA casinos it is a total of 40 credits to play the 25 lines with the ante bet for the extra free spins.

More Chilli is a 25 line slot machine game with a wild symbol and a scatter pay symbol. Red Chilli Pepper Symbol
The Red Chilli Pepper symbol in the More Chilli slot appears on the reels and can be stacked but does not have a paytable. It’s very similar to getting a blank symbol in the older mechanical reel slot machines. During the base game it’s a blocking symbol but during the free games in the bonus feature you want them to show up in masses.
Money Bag Scatter Symbol
Three or more Money Bag symbols showing anywhere on the reels is the scatter pay. It pays 2 times your total bet (total bet = line bet x number of lines played) in addition to any payline wins. The scatter symbol is also the trigger for More Chilli’s exciting Free Spins Bonus feature.
Sombrero Man Wild Symbol
The Sombrero Man symbol in the More Chilli slot game has its own paytable in addition to being the wild symbol. It substitutes for all symbols except the Money Bags scatter pay and the Red Chilli Pepper symbols. Only the highest win is paid on each line. The wild symbol is a stacked symbol which means you can have up to 3 wild symbol showing on the same reel.
More Chilli Bonus Feature – Up to 4 Sets of Reels with Wild Reels!
Three or more Money Bag scatter symbols triggers the Free Spins Bonus feature, but if you are lucky the slot game will sometimes award a random feature, just for playing.
The free games start with 2 sets of reels, where besides trying to get the big payline wins, what you are really hoping for is to collect those Red Chilli Pepper symbols. Each time a Red Chilli Pepper symbol appears on the reels the count is incremented. Remember, the Red Chilli Pepper symbol is a stacked symbol so it’s possible to get up to 3 on each reel on each reel set. Once you collect 9 Red Chilli Pepper symbols, then a 3rd set of reels is added to the free games screen and the 5th reel on all 3 games turns wild. If you collect another 5 Red Chilli Pepper symbols to get to 14, then the 4thgame is added and reels 4 and 5 on all free games turn wild.
Now, the really lucky part…if you can somehow collect 30 Red Chilli Pepper symbols, then reels 3, 4, and 5 all turn Wild. The key is to get the 4 games unlocked with at least a couple of spins left. You can get some serious pays with Reels 4 and 5 Wild. Sometimes the Chilis are really hard to get in the feature and other times if feels like your screen in covered with them. I’ve had a few terrible feature wins, but those times when a £1.50 bet turns in £400+ more than makes up for it.

That’s a really good question. There are two different versions of More Chilli that I know of. The online version is 30 credits and the free games bonus should trigger roughly every 130 spins. In the US land-based casinos there is a 40 credits version and the free games bonus seems to trigger more frequently at roughly 1 in 100 spins or less. While the online version may trigger the bonus less frequently, the wins seems to be better. Hope that helps!
