03 March 2014 – A legislative committee in Nevada opened up a debate whether over 2,000 restricted gaming locations in the state like taverns, bars and restaurants rely too heavily on slots as their main revenue source. The same issue has been argued by the casino industry and lawmakers over the past few years and various changes had been made to statues and regulations. The committee conducting an interim study concerning the impact of technology upon gaming was told to leave the matter as it is because doing more would not improve it. Such restricted gaming locations pay lower gaming taxes than the non-restricted ones like the small and large casinos.
