03 March 2014 – Florida is back in play. Legalization was unveiled last month that would bring Las Vegas-style casinos to South Florida counties Miami-Dade and Broward. This would also allow racetracks outside state racinos to offer slot machines. A five-member Gaming Control Board will be created to oversee these changes. The proposals are the state’s first real casino expansion effort since 2012. However, the Seminole Indian Tribe and Walt Disney Co. made their opposition clear and known.
