31 March 2014 – Russian officials are considering introducing gambling in Crimea and making the Black Sea peninsula, recently annexed from Ukraine, a gambling zone according to a report on the Bloomberg website. The news is confirmed by four people that are directly involved with the project. According to them a meeting was held on 21 March led by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak. At this meeting the Russian ministries of finance, economy and regional development were assigned the task to make a gambling plan for Crimea and list details about revenue and spending figures until 15 April 2014.
