The lawmakers of Atlantic City are trying to buy some time and postpone the closure of two land-based casinos, namely the Showboat and Trump Plaza. Assemblymen Chris Brown and Vince Mazzeo and James Whelan, the state senator of New Jersey, wrote a letter to the New Jersey’s Casino Control Commission asking it to prolong the shutting down of the casinos for four additional months pointing out that the two-month time frame is not enough to find potential buyers. They also noted that such quick closures are not in the interest of public. However, it is hard to tell whether or not they will find buyers.
