Bill HB649 has finally passed the Pennsylvania House Gaming Oversight Committee. If the bill goes into law, it would legalize online gambling and allow land based casinos to apply for an online gambling license at a cost of $5 million. The bill is sponsored by John Payne, a chairman of the committee. According to the bill, customers that would like to gamble online must be located within the state’s borders and 21 years of age. Operators that would want to get a license must pay $1 million as well as 14% tax rate on their gambling revenues.
