Mecca Bingo To Give Up £1M For Treating Criminal as VIP

The owners of Mecca Bingo, Rank Ltd, have to forfeit a total of £950,000 and any associated winnings from a court case where a 57 year-old grandmother and bookkeeper was sentenced to jail for blowing £50,000 a month on slots on the site. Caroline Dumont was stealing from three companies she was working for to feed her gambling addition; one of the companies was even forced into liquidation. Dumont was gambling almost £20,000 a week playing slots at Mecca Bingo. She was a VIP at MeccaBingo and they paid for her trip to Las Vegas as well as a Caribbean cruise. After reviewing their AML arrangements, the Rank Group voluntary surrendered profits made from Dumont.
