An article in the Sun Chronicle interviewed Republican leader in the Senate Bruce Tarr about the proposal to legalize online gambling in Massachusetts operated through the authorized land-based casinos in the state. Tarr, who is leading the initiative of online gambling legalization, told the magazine that by allowing land based casinos in the state to conduct online casino gaming, they get a competitive advantage on a national level and increase their chances of success. A spokesman for Penn National Gaming expressed his support to legalize online gambling but to extent it protects the investment of land-based casinos in the state and the jobs they have created.
