The UK Gambling Commission has just released it statistical figures for the period October 2014 – September 2015. Statistical data show that the amount of money lost by players in the UK increased by £1.4bn as Brits lost a record £12.6bn in the abovementioned period. It has also been noted that the losses have been constantly increasing in every 12 month period since April 2011. Online gambling accounted for £3.6bn, whereas people spent £3.3bn on the National Lottery. There was also an increase in the amount gambled on fixed-odds betting terminals and that figure was £1.7bn.
