The latest statistics show that residents of the Australian state of Victoria have spent $2.6 billion on slot machines last year. These statistics were published by the state’s Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation. This is an increase of $43 million compared to last year. Experts attribute this to the instalment of new slot machines in pubs and other locations. Several policies aimed at decreased the gambling losses in the state of Victoria have been introduced both by the Labor and the Liberal Party and there is a cap on the number of machines in the state.
